CBI Arrests a Private Secretary of a Minister in Punjab Govt.
The Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested a Private Secretary to the Minister of Technical Education, Social Security, Women & Child, Govt. of Punjab in the on-going investigation of a bribery case.
The arrested accused was produced before the Special Judge for CBI cases, Chandigarh and remanded to one day Police custody.
The CBI had earlier registered a case under Section 8 of PC Act against the official of Registrar, (Firms & Societies) Punjab, Sector 17, Chandigarh for demanding a bribe of Rs. 1.5 crore from the complainant for showing a favour. A trap was laid. The accused official of Registrar, (Firms & Societies) Punjab, Sector 17, Chandigarh and the Chief Parliamentary Secretary, Punjab were earlier arrested in this case.
Further investigation is continuing.
