Haryana Excise Dept collects revenue of Rs 16,068 cr

Haryana Excise and Taxation Department has collected a revenue of Rs 16,068.81 crore during the financial year 2010-11. The revenue during the previous fiscal was 24.54 per cent more as compared to 2009-10, Haryana’s Excise and Taxation Minister Kiran Choudhry said, while presiding over a meeting to review the functioning of the Department here.

She directed the Department to achieve the future targets too and take steps to check leakage of revenue, according to an official release here.

The Minister also directed the officers to check unauthorised plying of vehicles including buses of educational institutions.

She said the vehicles being run in an unauthorised manner should be challaned.

Choudhry also directed to take stern action against those management of schools that have been issued notices for plying buses in an unauthorised manner.
