DGFT – Cotton exporters to face penal action if fail to ship in time

Cotton exporters, who fail to ship the quantity allocated to them within the stipulatedperiod, will be debarred from future allocations, according to tough norms of the commerce ministry. The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) has said it would also initiate penal action against the defaulting exporters.

Conditions and modalities for registration of contracts for additional quantity of 10 lakh bales(1,70,000 MTs ) of cotton with DGFT

Public Notice No. 55 (RE-2010)/2009-2014 – Through Notification No.57 of 09.06.2011, the cap on export of cotton in the current cotton year has been increased to 65 lakh bales from 55 lakh bales. For allocation of this additional quantity of 10 lakh bales, the above procedure has been prescribed.

Minimum Export Price of Onions – Notification No. 56 (RE–2010)/2009-2014

Notification No 56 (RE – 2010)/2009-2014 Minimum Export Price (MEP) of onions other than Bangalore Rose Onions and Krishnapuram onions will be US$ 200 per Metric Ton F.O.B. It was US$ 170 per Metric Ton as notified on 31.03.2011. There shall be no change in the MEP of Bangalore Rose Onion and Krishnapuram onion which continues to be USD 350 per Metric Ton F.O.B.

16 FDI Proposals Worth Rs. 923.55 Crore Approved

The government on Tuesday said it has cleared 16 foreign direct investment (FDI) proposals amounting to Rs 923.55 crore, including those of Star News Broadcasting Ltd and L&T Finance Holdings. A total of 38 FDI proposals were taken up by the Foreign Investment Promotion Board (FIPB), but the board deferred a decision on 14 applications, rejected seven and recommended one for the CCEA, the finance ministry said in a statement.
