Public Notice No. 89 (RE-2010)/2009-2014, In exercise of the powers conferred under Paragraph 2.4 of the Foreign Trade Policy, 2009-14, as amended from time to time, the Director General of Foreign Trade hereby allocates a total quantity of 10,000 MTs (Ten thousand metric tonnes) of white Sugar for export of CXL Concessions Sugar to European Union (EU) for the period October, 2011 to September, 2012.

Amendment in Appendix-3 to Schedule-2 of ITC(HS) Classification of Export and Import Items,2009-14-regarding supply of SCOMET Items from DTA to SEZ

NOTIFICATION No. 93 (RE-2010)/2009-2014 As per the extant policy provisions enshrined in FTP and SEZ Act, 2005, export permission is required for supply of SOMET items from DTA to SEZ. With this notification, no such permission will be required. However, export permission will continue to be required for export of SCOMET items outside the country both from SEZ and DTA (including EOUs).

Clarification regarding registration of contracts of cotton and cotton yarn with DGFT

Policy Circular No. 51(RE-2010)/2009-14 Through Notification No. 40 (RE-2010)/2009-14 dated 31.03.2011, export of cotton yarn was made “Free” subject to registration of export contracts with DGFT, for ITC(HS) Code 5205, 5206 & 5207. Procedure for registration of contracts of cotton yarn was notified through Policy Circular No. 27 of 01.04.2011. Thereafter, Trade Notice No. 19 dated 30.08.2011 stipulating procedure for imposition of penalty for failure to export cotton yarn in terms of Policy Circular No. 27 was issued.

Clarification on Deemed Export benefits when imported capital goods are directly supplied as such to Project Authority – regarding

Policy Circular No.50/2009-2014 (RE 2010) In case capital goods have been imported by the contractor/sub-contractor and supplied as such to project authorities, then custom duties paid on such imports can not be refunded back as deemed export duty drawback under paragraph 8.3(b) of FTP.

DGFT extends ban on import of milk from China

Notification No 91 (RE – 2010)/2009-2014 – India has extended ban on import of milk and its products from China for another six months, according to the foreign trade office. The ban was in effect till December 24. “Prohibition on import of milk and milk products (including chocolates and chocolate products and candies/ confectionery/ food preparations with milk or milk solids as an ingredient) from China is further extended till 24.6.2012 or until further orders, whichever is earlier,” Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) said in a notification.

Govt reduces MEP of Non-basmati Rice to Boost Export

The EGoM in its meeting held on 9.2.2011 permitted the export of 1,00,000 MTs of Sona Masuri (from Chennai & Vishakhapatnam port), 25,000 MTs of Ponni Samba (from Tuticorin port) and 25,000 MTs of Matta rice (from Kochin port) which was notified through notification no. 21 dated 10.2.2011 and Public Notice No. 36 of 1.3.2011. A Minimum Export Price (MEP) of USD 850 per MT (PMT) for such exports was notified through Public Notice No. 37 dated 08.03.2011 and Public Notice No. 44 of 31.03.2011. During April, 2011 to July, 2011, 1.10 lakh tonnes of non-basmati rice has been exported. However, to remain price competitive in the international markets, the MEP of USD 850 was reduced to USD 600 PMT through Public Notice No. 72 dated 12.08.2011.
